Who I am ?

My name is Frédéric Deleuze. I have graduated from Montpellier University with a Master degree in medieval history and a public law licence. I am a professionnal genealogist since 1997. My roots are diverse but a part of my family come from the Cévennes, a region strongly marked by the Protestantism and the religious wars. I am specialised in the searches about the Protestantism and people who fled the french kingdom in the end of the the seventeenth century (often called huguenots)

I wrote two books :

« Guide de recherches généalogiques en Languedoc-Roussillon » in 2004, 125 pages by Editions de la Voûte

« Rechercher sa famille dans les territoires de l’Océan Indien » in 2016 by Editions Archives et Culture

… and several articles (genealogy of the French tennisman Richard Gasquet, about the protestantism and genealogy in the island of La Réunion and Madagascar) for the most famous magazine of genealogy in France, the Revue Française de Généalogie. You’ll find the complete list in the site www.rfgenealogie.com

In 2014, I also create a blog (in French) called genealogiesprotestantes.wordpress.com The posts call about the specificities of the protestant genealogical searches and some articles about the repression of the protestants in the 18th century

Former member and former vice-President of the Chambre des Généalogistes Professionnels (a professional genealogist guild), I work with a network of colleagues, who are often friends. I was able to work in all the France, included the islands of the Indian Ocean, like the Réunion or Mauritius.
